About Beth Syengo Kalunda
Hon. Beth Kalunda Syengo is a Kenyan politician serving as a Nominated Senator in the 13th Parliament under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, where she also presides as the National Women’s League President. A passionate advocate for gender equity and grassroots empowerment, she sponsored the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2023 to solve the two-thirds gender rule deadlock and the Cotton Industry Development Bill, 2023 to revitalize local agriculture. Prior to her 2022 nomination to the Senate, she spent 15 years as a professional high school teacher, served as the national treasurer for Maendeleo Ya Wanawake, and holds a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University.
