Brighton Leonard Yegon

Hon. Brighton Leonard Yegon is a prominent Kenyan politician currently serving his second consecutive term as the Member of Parliament for Konoin Constituency in Bomet County under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. First elected in 2017, he made history in the 2022 general elections by breaking a 35-year political jinx to become the first legislator to be re-elected for a consecutive term in Konoin. Within the 13th Parliament, he holds the influential role of Vice-Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock, where he actively drives regional and national agricultural development. Prior to entering active politics, Yegon established a strong academic and professional foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science from Moi University, a Master of Science from Kenyatta University, and pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Science at Kisii University, while also serving as an assistant registrar and lecturer at Kenya Methodist University.
