Francis Chachu Ganya

Hon. Francis Chachu Ganya is a Kenyan politician, development advocate, and former Member of Parliament for North Horr Constituency in Marsabit County. He served as the North Horr MP for several terms and has been involved in advocating for the interests of pastoralist communities, environmental conservation, and development in Northern Kenya. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Non-Profit Management from George Mason University in the United States, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University. Before entering elective politics, he worked in development organizations, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Pastoralist Integrated Support Programme (PISP), and has been involved in indigenous peoples’ and conservation initiatives through organizations such as the World Alliance of Mobile Indigenous Peoples (WAMIP). He is a former MP for North Horr and has previously been associated with ODM and Frontier Alliance Party (FAP). He is currently mentioned among possible contenders for the Marsabit County Governor seat in the 2027 elections.
