Hon. Dr. Eve Akinyi Obara, CBS, is a trailblazing Kenyan politician serving her second term as the Member of Parliament for Kabondo Kasipul Constituency in Homa Bay County, making history as the first woman elected to represent the area since independence. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the University of Illinois. Before entering elective politics in 2017, she enjoyed a distinguished career in corporate leadership, notably serving as the Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) from 2007 to 2016. In Parliament, she serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Education and Research Committee and is a key figure in the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA), balancing her legislative work with grassroots advocacy for community development, education infrastructure, and women's empowerment.
