Hon. Maureen Nyaga

Hon. Nyaga Maureen Kagendo (popularly known as "Mami Mwega") is a dynamic Kenyan leader currently serving as a Nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) and the Women Caucus Chair at the County Assembly of Embu. Prior to her nomination following the 2022 general elections, she served in the office of the former Manyatta Member of Parliament (Hon. John Muchiri) and established deep grassroots connections as the long-serving Embu Chapter Chairperson for Maendeleo ya Wanawake. An alumnus of Kangaru Girls and Embu College, her leadership spans extensive community development, economic empowerment for women's self-help groups, and proactive legislative oversight. She has formally declared her intention to run for the Embu County Women Representative seat in the 2027 general elections.
