Jeremiah Ekamais Lomorukai Napotikan

Jeremiah Ekamais Lomorukai Napotikan is a Kenyan politician who has served as the Governor of Turkana County since September 2022, following his election in the 2022 general elections. Before becoming governor, he represented Loima Constituency as a Member of Parliament from 2017 to 2022 and had previously served as a Member of the Turkana County Assembly and as a councillor in the former Turkana County Council. Earlier in his career, he worked as a clerical officer at Kenya's National Registration Bureau. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling and a Diploma in Counselling from Kenya Methodist University, as well as a Certificate in Governance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. As governor, Lomorukai has prioritized infrastructure development, water access, healthcare, education, peace-building, and economic growth across Turkana County. His administration has sought to improve service delivery while addressing challenges such as drought, insecurity, and limited infrastructure in one of Kenya's largest and most arid counties. Like many public officials, his leadership has also been subject to public scrutiny and debate on various governance matters, reflecting the accountability expectations placed on elected leaders in Kenya.
