Rigathi Gachagua

Rigathi Gachagua is the leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) and a presidential aspirant for the August 2027 General Election. He served as Kenya's Deputy President from 2022 until his impeachment in October 2024, and before that represented Mathira Constituency in Nyeri County as Member of Parliament from 2017 to 2022. Since leaving office he has positioned himself as a leading voice of the opposition, particularly in the Mount Kenya region, and launched the DCP as his political vehicle ahead of 2027.
