Ronald Kiprotich Tonui

Ronald Kiprotich Tonui is a prominent Kenyan politician and veteran educationist who served as the Member of Parliament for Bomet Central Constituency from 2013 to 2022, initially elected under the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) and later under the Jubilee Party. A graduate of Kenyatta University with a Bachelor of Education, Tonui spent nearly two decades as a high school teacher and principal before transitioning into public leadership, where he simultaneously established himself as a fierce advocate for educators' welfare as the National Assistant Treasurer of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET). Known for his vocal stand on collective bargaining agreements and teachers' medical covers, he remains an influential figure in South Rift politics and trade union leadership, recently mobilizing a strong campaign for the top KUPPET Secretary General seat while actively eyeing a political comeback for his former parliamentary seat in Bomet Central.
