Wakili Robert Asembo

Robert Akumu Asembo is a Nairobi-based city lawyer, prominent sports administrator, and political aspirant for the Budalangi constituency parliamentary seat. A holder of an LLM in Tax Law from the University of South Africa and an LLB from the University of Nairobi, he manages his private practice under Asembo & Co. Advocates and previously served in key national sports leadership roles, including Vice President of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Secretary General of AFC Leopards. Throughout his career, Asembo has been a highly visible and polarizing figure; he sat for highly publicized interviews before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel as a top nominee for the Commission's chairperson vacancy, but has simultaneously battled severe integrity challenges, most notably a June 2025 High Court ruling that upheld his sentence to a KSh 800,000 fine or a one-year prison term following a KSh 2.5 million fraudulent land deal.
